Michigan's Forest Legacy Program is accepting nominations from landowners seeking to protect environmentally important forest lands through purchase or conservation easements. Applications must be submitted by May 8, 2026, to compete for funding in the fiscal year 2028 federal budget. Eligible projects must include working forests open to public nonmotorized access and may require a forest management plan.
