The City of Detroit Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management (DHSEM) offers a free 4-day CERT volunteer training program. Topics include disaster preparedness, fire safety, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, AED use, wound bandaging, and other life-saving techniques. Participants must complete all four sessions to receive a certificate of completion.
